Live Music Machine
Cats: Music Culture, Music Promotion|
Live Music Machine is about allowing the fans to decide where the bands they love should play. This is revolutionary, because it saves time and risks of booking a city that may not turn out very many people.
This has been done in a small scale by iLike and Eventful, as well as several others, but only exists as a feature, and not as the main part of the program. These features also don’t have very much pull when it comes to booking the artist.
This is where LMM differs. If you’re a big fan, or a venue who decides they need this band, you can send them an offer to play in your city, or at your venue. If they accept your offer, or you meet their minimum offer, you’re on the tour. If however, you want them to come to your city, but don’t want to book the band directly, there’s also a voting system. Once a minimum amount of fans has been reached, the band is connected with possible venues to play at.
It contains many other features to make booking the band as easy as possible. This includes getting a number of people together in your area, to each put in money to book the artist. All these features can be strung through various social media platforms as well.
This is an example integrating social media with more parts of the bands decision. This involves the fans, and gets rid of certain responsibilities of choosing the tour schedule, and taking chances on dead areas. It can guarantee a showing for a band, if there’s a fanbase in an area that has yet to tapped.
This can mean great things for bands and fans alike.
