Robot Guitars: Gimmick Or The Future Of Guitar?
Cats: Oddities|

Check out the YouTube video below. While it’s a few years old, I was listening to some Daft Punk the other day which got me thinking about robot music in general, and here we are. This guitar tunes itself to various presets, restrings itself, allows you to adjust the intonation, and has cool looking LED’s. The downside: you need an instruction manual to use the damn thing, and you could spend the extra money on a killer pickup and tune it yourself.
The concept of auto-tuning guitars has been around for a while, check out Transperformance for more on that. The difference here is that previous systems required relatively heavy modification to the guitar, whereas here you just slap down the cash and walk out the door.
