100 Resources for DIY Musicians
Cats: Music Promotion, Wisdom, studio 2.0|By: P. Newman
The sheer amount of digital/social platforms and services that are available to artists is overwhelming. But its also refreshing to see the industry reinventing itself.
However, finding which ones are worth your time and effort can be tough.
The 100 Resources for DIY Musicians from Label 2.0 culminates the best of the best for resources, platforms, and services.
Check out Creative Destruction’s write up on it for a few of their favourites to get started, then head over to the source to pick up the list (e-mail sign-up required.)
This is a great starting point for those new to the industry, and a good place to pick up a few extra resources for those that are.
New artists or bands that have yet to fully explore the range of online options that are available to them will benefit from spending some time with ‘100 Resources.’ It can take a lot of time to research the tools your band should be using – time better spent actually writing, performing and promoting your music. Greg has done the hard work of sifting through the multitude of different sites and services and narrowed it down to a few solid options in about 16 categories.
Euphonic Sound Recording Studio has also broken the typical mold of independent artist recording packages with Studio 2.0, which takes advantages of these services. Take the free Studio 2.0 Artist Assessment Survey here.
