Studio Manifesto offers advice to Independent Recording Artists and Producers. Our focus is on the following three topic centers:

1. Music Production.
2. Online Music Promotion – social media and Web 2.0 tools.
3. Music Culture – Bridging the gap between production and promotion.

Music Production

Drawing from the day-to-day experiences we have producing independent recording artists at our recording studio, Euphonic Sound. Look for great articles and advice on everything from preproduction, to approaching a mix, to reviews of music social media platforms.

Online Promotion

Advice, useful strategies, and action plans aimed at helping indie artists leverage social media through the development of effective web 2.0 online identities.
Insight and analysis of popular music social media platforms. Every music social media platform is unique therefore a unique set of strategies is necessary to be successful on any one of them.
Examples of artists involved with our indie record label can be heard at www.brokenwindowrecords.com.

Music Culture

Sharing innovative ideas, and offering solutions that help indies make lasting contributions to the Global Music Community. From the culture of music production to the culture of music enjoyment, Studio Manifesto looks at what successful, and creative, innovators are doing to bring attention to their music and ideas.

The Basic Idea

The most important principle and central theme of Studio Manifesto is the empowerment of the independent music industry participant. Specifically, Independent Recording Artists and Independent Producers/Sound Engineers but to anyone with a love for music who may be interested in the perspective of an Indie Producer – this blog is for you. I want to share my experience and raise the awareness of important and often misunderstood or unknown issues within our industry.

Studio Manifesto is a great resource for the inexperienced independent musician or producer/sound engineer seeking to gain a little recording studio etiquette and skill, along with awareness and advice about the challenges of the new music business. However, as evidenced in comment number one of our first blog post Welcome to the Land of Loud Mix Master Freddy Gabrsek admits he was in need of a little reminder, and found the post to be just what he needed to help him through a challenging mix. All of us involved in the creation and production of music should take the time to relearn or review what we are supposed to be experts at. In this sense, Studio Manifesto aims to keep us sharp, keep us together, keep the music discussion going, and maybe even inspire us to affect change, and make better the world of music creation, production, and enjoyment.
